Dr. Sowjanya Reganti

Sowjanya Reganti, MD, joined Cancer Care Specialists in August of 2008. After receiving her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from The University of Bangalore, Sri Siddhartha Medical College in Tumkur India in 2000, she completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. Dr. Reganti completed her fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Loyola University, Cardinal Benardin Cancer Center in Maywood, IL. Dr. Reganti is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Oncology.
During her medical training in the United States, Dr. Reganti received many honors, including being named Fellow of the Year Award for her excellence in clinical instruction and education, the Chairman’s Award, the Ambulatory Care Award, and Spirit Award.
Dr. Reganti is a very active member in the medical community. In 2016 Dr. Reganti served as the president of the Washoe County Medical Society and she is currently serving on the executive council board with the Nevada State Medical Association. Nationally, Dr. Reganti consults with many pharmaceutical developers, health insurance companies, and value-based APM organizations. Dr. Reganti serves as an active member of multiple executive committees in our local hospitals and she enjoys teaching as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada Medical School.
Dr. Reganti states that, “My cancer patients are very special to me. I believe in treating the whole person, not just the disease. In my life, the best teachers have been my patients.” Dr. Reganti is interested in exploring new avenues of oncology including personalized/targeted therapies and clinical trial enrollment for the patients. Under Dr. Reganti’s leadership, Cancer Care Specialists has been successful in developing and participating in many value-based care programs and quality pathways. Furthermore, her devotion to professional development has been influential in leading precision medicine programs in our community. As a principal investigator of multiple clinical trials, Dr. Reganti works to offer cutting edge treatments to both hematology and oncology patients.
Dr. Reganti is married and has two children. She enjoys spending time with her family, and it is that important sense of family connection that she extends to her patients. An avid reader, Dr. Reganti is currently expanding her interests to include outdoor activities like hiking and skiing since moving to the West Coast.
